Many areas in America are considered 'food deserts' leaving the people of these communities without food services within one mile of their homes. Unfortunately, these same communities often consist of residents who are low-income families, elderly, sick, or homeless, and many times have no mode of transportation to get food. We are dedicated to providing free and affordable food services to these communities by organizing pop-up farmers' markets and placing non-profit retail food services (restaurants and grocery stores) in these communities. Summer programs will also be available to local public school students to receive free breakfast and lunch throughout the summer months. Many families living in poverty have little to no access to food services. Oftentimes children only eat during the school year, or families have to choose between bills and food. To make matters worse, these families travel further to access to quality food. The food banks available to these communities provide free uncooked foods. Our goal is to ensure all who live in poverty have access to healthy meals that can be prepared with minimal effort.
